Water is a force of nature that humankind has partly tamed, yet which still exerts a powerful effect on us. Nothing stirs us and wakes us as quickly as a cool jet of water. Nothing is as relaxing as feeling warm water on our body. Modern showers have long served more than just getting us clean. The positive power of water is harnessed to generate more vital energy and to strengthen health, preventively and actively. The knowledge of experts in Kneipp therapy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and wellbeing research feeds continuously into the development of new products.
Wellness Like a Spa

Various manufacturers are constantly developing flexible solutions. At Dornbracht, these are the so-called Spa Modules, which turn everyday showering into a genuine experience. The laminar jet spreads water broadly across the skin and is therefore especially suited to Kneipp affusions on the legs, arms and face. Massage modules were developed specifically so that the positive effect of aquapressure can also be enjoyed at home. They vary in intensity, and special massage jets can target the meridians and selected pressure points of the body. The shower can thus contribute simply and efficiently to relaxing the neck, shoulders and back. «The combination of gentle pressure and warmth strengthens the immune system and the body’s defences, which in turn supports the regeneration of one’s own resources», explains Dr Christoph Stumpe, sports scientist and TCM expert.
The possibilities are almost endless, with barely any limits to the imagination. What will it be? A meditation shower, a shower like a warm embrace, a shower lying down? What matters is being clear about your own needs. The daily shower ritual can thus be used deliberately to improve wellbeing actively. The renowned product developer Michael Neumayr, who runs a design studio in Los Angeles and created the «Form Follows Feeling» approach, says: «Today we know that conscious moments of calm are very helpful in balancing sensory overload – and that they are closely linked to the subjective feeling of happiness.» Can showering make you happy? Absolutely!
